  1. Howdy Folks,

OK, I'm as new as new can be. I checked over there <------- for compatibility for the Toshiba SD 1700 and there doesn't seem to be an answer that you can actually say is the right one.

I wish to burn, using my CD burner, VCDs, and/or SVCDs that can be watched on my standalone. I've got years of pictures of the family etc, that I'd like to put to disk. I don't think I'd mind downloading a movie or two and being able to watch them also.

Can anyone tell me.....does the Toshiba SD1700 play VCDs/SCVDs? Do I have to use a CDR or maybe a CDRW? Now let's get real personal, what color disk would you use? Remember, I've checked over there <--- and I went to Toshiba's website, but no help at this point.

At present, I'm using Nero to convert and burn a VCD, and stuff looks good on the computer. I was also using ULead Slideshow for the photos, again looks good on the computer. Using Memorex CDR 700mb/80min.

Can I answer any questions? Can anyone answer mine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like your fellow owners do not think too highly of your model. I would suggest not trying to find compatible disk media. I tried with a model of my own, and only ended up increasing my coaster supply. I am looking into going the DVD-R route, and if you do try to find the right disks, I wish you luck. Just do not get your hopes up too high.
    Hello.
