    I agree with thefox149 about the price of dvd burners in australia. The cheapest ones i have seen are about $499 australian dollars, but the real killer is the price of blank media. Most stores are charging up to ten dollars a disk for dvd-r!. On-line is a bit cheaper but at that rate i will keep with my vcd's for a while yet

    When I get my blue ray burner, i'm just going to compose video at current DVD standards and cram the disk full of tv episodes.

    The main purpose of my dvd burner is for data, well for blu-ray it depends if I can still access broadband, which is overpriced here $50 for 384K only

    I have no interest in Blu-Pray. Dual-layer DVD-R would be more useful to me.

    I have a bluray rom in my pc and a ps3. However I will still wait for a bluray burner.

    However if I were to invest in an hd handycam I'd certainly want a bluray burner to preserve the high def image.
