I am wondering if anyone has experience with using the volume normalization and/or uniformization functions of TMPGenc? I'm not sure which one is optimal for what I'm trying to do - in a nutshell, I string a bunch of clips together, and they have varying volumes - upon output, ideally I would like them to all have about the same volume - so is that normalizing or uniformizing? I'm not quite sure. I've read their definitions and I'm still not sure.
Follow up question - if anyone has used this, is it necessary to do the "analyze for preview" part or is that just in case I want to preview on screen - i.e. does the normalization/uniformization take place during the encoding, and thus, it is superfluous to do the "analyze for preview"?
Final question - is there a good way to normalize/uniformize volume on my clips permanently so that I don't have to mess with the function everytime I use TMPGenc?
Thanks for any help!
