  1. Hi,
I am capturing from DV format and trying to convert to svcd.
    i am using tmpgenc plus
my dv out puts 720x576 but svcd is 480x576, the result is that i end up with a tall narrow pic (the aspect is all wrong)
i can adjust it using advanced video arrange method - center(custom size)
should i use this?what would the best size be? is it still compatible with svcd if i change this size?

also another question... I have seen some movies converted to vcd/svcd and they have the rippers logo (i guess) on the pic as well. does any one know how to do this?

    thanks
    Cameron

Standard SVCD is 480x576 and will look odd played back with Windows Media Player but if you use a software DVD player such as Power DVD it will blow the picture up to fit your screen.
Standalone DVD players do the same thing so don't worry about the shape you see with Media Player.
720x576 would give a sharper picture but of course this would be XSVCD (non-standard) and will not play in all standalone players.

  3. try playing with the aspect ratios in tmpgenc. for dv, i usually use 16:9 and target 4:3 and selecting full screen (keep aspect ratio).
