I can play movies from my pc via s-video cable to my tv but....

The problem is when I play the movies they play on both the pc monitor and the tv. Since the TV is right next to the monitor I would like to play the movie only on my tv and still use my computer for surfing the net or whatever while I watch the movie on the tv. Can this be done?

I tried using the nvidia control center dualview option but it does not work it makes one screen have no windows bar at the bottom and then the movie only plays on the monitor. there must be some software or player that I can do this with, please help me.

Use the dualview extended view and then move/drag the media player to the tv and make it full screen. If you just get a black window in the media player then set the tv to the primary monitor.
