I capture and edit with Premiere 6 on an NT based computer and then export AVIs using the Microsoft DV codec. I then use TMPGEnc to encode to MPEG. I though I'd save some time by having my other two computers encode over the network but on the non-NT computers TMPGE tells me that the files are invalid or have an unknown codec. When I check properties in Premiere the Microsoft DV codec is listed as 'miroVIDEO DV 300'. I did some web searching for information about this but didn't find anything. So my question is this: is there a way to get this codec or is it already there as part of DirectShow and I'm just screwing something up.
Thanks,
Alex

well you can get a dv codec, but you might try bumping the priority of the directshow engine in tmpgenc.
in tmpg..goto options...environments settings....rightmost tab (vfapi)...locate directshow and bump it to +1 (right click and click higher priority).
if all else fails, a vfw dv codec can be found at mainconcept
