  1. I used to get the high capacity 99 minute cd-rs at CompUSA. The Compusa's in my area don't seem to carry them anymore and I have been having a hard time finding any websites that sell them to or in the U.S.
Where do you guys get your 99 min blanks? I've seen the ones at www.yesbuy.net, but thought they looked a little risky.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  7. I just succeeded in burning 1.049.624.688 Bytes on a 99min cd-r. CDR-Win showed me a length of 99:12min and the program failed to burn the lead-out because of the length. But it works fine in my DVD-Player (Redstar 230E), even my CD-Rom canīt read the CD. So 99min-CD-Rs kick ass. But in Germany they still cost about 1,50$, so I am careful with burning them.

  9. Thank you 'kjmacke' and 'painkiller', I'll have to give those a try.
My Plextor would burn the old compusa 99min cd-rs at 16x usually everytime, however, the plextor will only burn to 94:59. I wish there was a firmware hack to make the plextor burn to 99:00 but I don't even know if thats possible.
I would ask the employees at CompUSA why they got rid of their 99 min cd-rs and they would say they didn't know there was such a thing.

  10. no, they would scold you and say it is 99 gb cdr not 99 minute and then tell you that there were too many compatibility problems.

There are no even semi-intelligent people at any chain computer/electronics stores.

  11. There weren't a lot of cdr drives that could handle the full 99min. That was pretty much the domain of Mitsumi and Lite-On. That's why I still have an extra Lite-On 24x recorder. I've noticed that a few more drives are supporting the 99min limit. Most all the rest of the cdr drives can do at least 90min with regards to burn limits. That would include my 16x Plextor, my 40x Plextor, my 8x scsi Yamaha, and my 16x Teac. Lots of computers and lots of burners!
