  1. When I burn VCDs and play them back on my tv, they don't play in widescreen. It stretches the video out and makes it look really bad and distorted. What is a way that I can add just plain black on top and bottom of the video frames to make it stay widescreen on my tv? sorry if this is a stupid question, , I really don't know. Thanks!

    VCD doesn't support widescreen. You will have to encode your MPEG-1 files as letterboxed 4:3. You can do this using TMPGEnc's output settings and the "preserve aspect ratio" option. You'll figure it out.
