I have a JVC HR-S9800U and some tapes do jitter in this VCR with the TBC/DNR turned on.
I use as a pass through a Toshiba DR-4 to a JVC DRM100. Neither sources correct the jitter.
I also have used as pass through my Sony D8 TRV740, it doesnt
correct the jitter either but further cleans up a VHS source brilliantly with the tbc/dnr turned on.

Other then an expensive Time Based Corrector.
Id like to know if any DVD Recorder or Camcorder corrects this problem in pass through.
Id love a definite answer if anything corrects jitter no matter how bad the VHS tape
    or VCR.

    Thanks in advance.

Jitter is more inherent to VCR, not much can happen after the signal passes on. Tracking is the biggest issue, and some signal issues can be stabilized. Tracking, not really. You'll need to get it tracked better. That's why I own so many VCRs, most of them with a different "tracking range".

I dont think its a tracking problem. But even if it is, has any camcorder or dvd corrector been able to correct the slight jitter in the picture in pass through?

  5. My Panasonic dvd recorders do pretty great with VCR capturing. However, my films don't jitter that much.

I don't know what about jitter, but my ES10 corrects the vertical shaking and horizontal tearing (flagging).

Thanks to the posters here for recommending the ES10 to correct jitter. It really did correct the problem.

  11. My experience is that jvc vcr's with tbc/dnr connected to a jvc dvd recorder can on some tapes make jitter worse, my answer ?, a sharp vcr to a jvc dvd recorder. Try first with no external TBC,,most home recorded tapes do not need it or at least mine do not
    PAL/NTSC problem solver.
