I've been watching Rosemary and Thyme which I believe is a show from the UK. I get it on WLIW a local NYC PBS station. It does not appear to be either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.
Is this a common occurence in the U.K. or is it something WLIW is doing before transmission.
Normal 16:9 letterboxed SD has approx. the same size black bars on all four sides. With those I can zoom to fill the screen and maintain the proper AR. With this show I have to go full zoom to get the proper AR and fill the screen but that results in some of the top and bottom being cut off.
Not a biggie, it just piqued my curiousity.
Thanks
