Why doesn't my "spiderman.vcd.ts-tfe~columbia~(1of2)" file, that I downloaded from Kazaa, work. It just looks like a black screen in Windows Media Player. Any hints????

    It's 144.655 Megs.

I already deleted it so it doesn't get uploaded again in my p2p. What we need is a program that can screen these files. It would check the file size for the bogus file and warn us that it is bogus. Pass the word.

  5. You could tell from the filesize of 144mb that it was either going to be totally crap quality or a fake.

Why people would want to upload fake blank captures beats the hell out of me. I just guess they like pissing people off and wasting their time.

Movie studios load up bogus films to reduce reliablity of the net.
May the force be with you.

  7. Go get eDonkey2000 (much better than kazaa), and go to Sharereactor.com, they give you links that will download the REAL movie, no bogus stuff, right from eDonkey. Download speed is good, and is easier than MIRC fo beginners. I just downloaded Spiderman 1,2, and 3 Centropy version!!

  8. You can check a file by copying the dat file then renaming it and opening it with "the playa" (from www.divx.com) or you can open the file up with Virtual Dub

Check the fill??? Do you mean as it's downloading??? Is that true, you can open a partially downloaded Divx file in Vdub to preview???

  10. start eDonkey and minimize it, go to the WEBSITE www.sharereactor.com , click on screeners, go to spiderman, and click "add to download" this will automaticly add the spiderman movie to eDonkey's download list. Simple as that!

Thanks much. That was very helpful. But I'm waiting way to long just to download mp3 from edonkey, kazaa & imesh. I'm not even talking about the speed rate, I'm talking about....."more sources needed", remotely queued, looking....."

it's very possible to get a real copy of the 3 CD centropy version on edonkey
unfortunately, the one I got has a hiccup about 5 mins into disc 1, and the sound goes out of sync on that disc...I've got a project for tonight....

  14. i've managed to d/load a working 1st half of spiderman, but then i d/loaded (from the same user) the 2nd half and it was 'allegedly' an smr avi.,but it still didn't work with that codec so i assume that it is bogus.the question is definately 'why do people do it'.i kept having to send messages to users warning them of it until i took it of of my share folder.

  15. man, i feel sorry for you all.. seriously.. kazaa, edonkey, morpheus, bearshare, and whatever else.. trying to download a 3 disc svcd movie.. holy jeez, that'd be a miracle.. but i once did accomplish a miracle from one of those p2p programs.. i downloaded the full version of dvdit! pe 2.5 from kazaa, 225mb i think... that was quite a while back, before i became "enlightened"..

Thanks again. I downloaded the Star Wares Episode II files (e.g. Star Wars 2 - Attack of the Clones (2002).TS.CD1.FTF.ShareReactor). The bin/cue was in a VCD format (not SVCD). I wasn't that impressed with the picuture quality. It seemed to be a very dark movie which didn't help.

Is there any ways or programs that can help you decipher the encoding (to see if could of done a better job in encoding)? Also the first few minutes of each of the disks (after I burned the image with Nero to CD-R) had audio breakup periodically.

How was the Spiderman quality? Does sharereactor.com ever make bin/cue's in SVCD format??

Once again I was pretty disapointed with the Episode II picture quality.

I used to use Kazaa. It's poop. Too many fake files. Now I use Direct Connect. I have d/l many, many movies and have yet to get a 'fake' from Direct Connect.
Spiderman is great quality (great movie imo)
Star wars is so so quality
Lord of the Rings is Dvd quality; the best I've seen (2.1 gigs it should be)

So all you file fiends out there who have tried every p2p program do yourselves a favor and try Direct Connect
