I am suddenly unable to get any PC running XP to recognize my new Panasonic PVGS35 camcorder. When I first pluuged it into my video desktop, it worked. Then suddenly it stopped. I was using Ulead Media Studio Pro 8 capture at the time. The computer recognizes my Cannon Gl2 just fine, but I bought this Panasonic to act as a VHS to capture with but now it won't work. I have all the patches for EX and have not intalled anything new. Any suggestions appreciated.

If the GL2 works using the same cable and you can't get the Panny to work on multiple computers I'd suggest there is something wrong with cam.

Tried connecting to my rear Firewire port and it worked- but had to shake the cable. It is definitely the port on the camera. But, for some reason all video capture software will not open when the camera is on. It does not load a capture driver, but freezes or takes forever and I have to turn the camera off. I don't know what to do but send the camera in.

Might be worth it to try a different cable,

Tried that- something has to be up with the camera as the PC will not open any capture software when it's plugged in until I turn the camera off. When I plug the Gl2 in it works wonderful.

I have a Panasonic GS120 and it came with a disc for drivers and a install disc. And it was shipped with a USB cable but it does have a Firewire port. Check in menu of the camcorder and check on the advanced settings for data or connection settings.
