My very important file is totally gone?? Help!

Hi

A very important file to me toally disappeard! A saved it on my mp3 and continued to use the file on the comp. I removed the mp3 and continued in the file and when i was trying to save the file o the comp it said something like: You already using this file, try to save in other name. I tried but it didnt work so i didnt save the file at all, thinking that i had the file on the mp3.
BAM! The file was gone! Both on the mp3 and the comp!!

Please someone! Can you help me!

If it's REALLY important stop using the computer imediately and try some file recovery software accessing the drive from another computer.
