Just refuse to do the transfer due to the nature of the material considering its age.
it material is recent, there is nothing stopping from ringing the cops to ask advise

Well, I can vote in my own poll now..."I have seen illegal activity and have reported it to the authorities."

My conclusion that the tape was from the 80's may or may not be correct. Upon closer examination, there was no date on the tape, tape case, or overlaid on the video. My assumption that it is from the 80's was due to the fact that all other tapes sent by this individual were dated from the 80's Probably a good assumption, but I really don't know.

Anyway, I called the authorities, which was no easy task. The main problem was that I really didn't know who to report it to. After about 10 phone calls, I finally connected with the county sherriff's office. They took a "report", which was really nothing more than telling them what address the tape came from, what it appeared to contain, and what my name and phone number was. They said they would send a deputy to the address and call me if they needed anything else. I have a feeling I'll never hear from them again, but I guess it's in their hands now. I sent the tape back to the client and refunded their money, but have a copy here in case the authorities need it.

As far as being anonymous, considering the timing, the client would have to be pretty dense not to figure out who made the report. It wasn't really an option.

I'd like to think that maybe a bear will still be alive in a few years time as a result of your actions.
    Regards,
