  1. I am in the process of looking for a printer that prints directly onto printable DVD's. I have read many complaints about Epson printers, and needing to spray the discs in order to prevent the ink from smearing. I personally don't want to be spraying my discs with anything.

My budget is $200 (Canadian) or less.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Good new, I just purchased an Epson photo rx580 model for a price of $139.00 (US currency) from best buys. A couple of other store carry it for $159.00. It is an all in one print that prints directly to the printable dvd's and printable cd's. Also you can put a original dvd in the scanner and copy it and print it directly to the printable disc and you don't need a computer for this feature. Also you can print photos from memory cards with no computer on.

Any of the Canon iP series printers will print on discs and do not smear at all. However, the feature is disabled on US versions (due to Epson having a patent or something) and whether that applies to Canada too I don't know. All the European supplied versions do not have it disabled so maybe you could order one from Amazon in the UK?

In your price range (I think) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-Pixma-iP4300-Photo-Printer/dp/B000IKU4LC/ref=sr_1_1/203-...4729976&sr=1-1

  4. Just bought the Canon iP4300 from Futureshop last week for $119.99 ($30 rebate) and the feature to print on DVD/CD is enabled! Having printed a few DVD and pictures since then I must say I'm pretty happy with the results. Just my 2 cents worth.

  5. I have been printing cd labels on a Canon IP4000 for at least a year now and absolutely love it.

There is no reason to order a non-US model as US models can be easily modified.
