Symptom:
Computer can play videos fine. Then, usually after either playing a game or RDP'ing to the machine, videos will not play, they play but look black with a few outlined primary colors (mostly red) showing. All players seem to do this (vlc, mplayerc, mplayer, powerdvd)
What fixes it:
A reboot
Switching mplayerc to use the Haali Renderer as Directshow output (but mplayers runs slow and takes forever to start playing vids and has a hard time skipping around in files)
Turning down display settings to disable direct draw acceleration. Turning it back up breaks it again.
Turning switching between the nvidia old or new style control panel fixes it also? It must be related to something in the vid driver just wish I knew what!
I can't seem to pinpoint the thing that broke this.
