Which is a better editor Sony's Vegas Platinum or Studio 10? I heard that Pinnacle's Studio 10 has many bugs. Is that true?

  2. I have never used Pinnacle software so I can't really comment on it. I've used an older version of Vegas Movie Studio and now have upgraded to Sony Vegas 7+DVD and Cinescore package. I find the Sony software easy to use and it has a nice layout. I've never had it crash on me yet. Sony has Trial versions of software. I would try the trial versions and see what software you like best.

    Sony trial

I am one of many, many people who navigated to VMS after headaches with Studio - I had version 8. My experience was not as bad as some, but there are many who have kept upgrading to new versions of Studio hoping the bugs would be fixed, always to no avail. I still use PS8 from time to time for very simple stuff, but ALL major projects are done with VMS-P. My advice is to steer clear of Pinnacle, and go for Vegas. You'll lose much less sleep, and swear far less.

Thanks for the advice. I use Studio 9 and was thinking to upgrade to !0 but I had minor problems with Studio 8 and 9 so will switch to Vegas. I read comments on Pinnacle's forum about Studio 10 and many customers are still having major problems with Studio 10. When will Pinnacle fix these bugs?
