What's the best way to convert a PAL DVD to NTSC. I want to keep all of the menus intact.

    Thanks.

Unless you do this in hardware it will take you days to convert.

PAL is a superior picture anyhow, why you would want to convert to NTSC?

Maybe in Australia, but NTSC reigns supreme here in the States in terms of usefulness.

  6. Your best bet is to not even try to convert it from PAL to NTSC. Instead, go buy a JVC DVD player -- they have built-in PAL>NTSC conversion already. That's what I did b/c I have a large collection of rugby and motorsports vids from Europe and down under. I think I paid $69 USD for it, so even the cheap ones have it as far as I know. Now, I just play PAL DVD's like any other I have, and convert PAL .avi's to PAL DVD w/ ffmpegx, and then play it. If you go to JVC's site you can download the various players' instruction manuals as .pdf, and it'll tell you in there if it'll play PAL or not. Believe me, this is the less PIA way to go.
