which are not needed in this list?
where could i get these codec.
I have installed the basic ones, like divx ,ac3 3vix

#1 This isn't the full list. I've got more than that. Also, doesn't cover differences between Mac & PC and between Pre-OSX, OSX and Universal Mac, and between Pre-v3 and v3+ PC.

#2 You only need to get the ones you don't already have--WHEN--you need them. Not a good idea to get 'em all unless you're a developer, etc. Stick with the basic ones for now.

#3 Sources are all over the place--use Google.

Can you actually get Indeo to play in QT in OSX? I needed that a couple of years ago to convert vcds and was told Ligos bought Intel's codecs and wanted a lot of money to even allow someone to play back in OSX. You could do it in Classic, but not X.
