    I like Rima: http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv

For single layer, I use Taiyo Yuden and for DL, Verbatim +.

As much as I hate Best Buy, they occasionally have 2.4x Verbatim DL 20 pks for $29.99
You can of course order them at bestbuy.com when they are at that price.

If you opt to go for Sony DL's, I personally would not order them online as there are two that can be had. Ones made in Taiwan and others in Singapore. Buy the made in Singapore stuff.

I've always bought minus R's when buying DVD's single layer because they're more playable on DVD's than the plus R's. Is this still the case with dual layer? Should I focus on dual layer minus R's?

Not the case with double layer. Use DVD+R DL, and bitset them to DVD-ROM for greatest compatibility. I think I read that the DVD-R DL only have something like 75% compatibility, while the DVD+R DL have something like 84% compatibility.

Although both have less compatibility overall than single layer discs, and several players often struggle with the layer break.

For on-line ordering, I've been happy with Meritline.com.

And, there's a Best Buy 1/2-mile from my house, so I too have bought Verbatims from them as well - ordered on-line and picked up in-store on my way home

Stick with DVD+R DL for video as -R DL is not intended for video.
