    Hello
Please forgive my lack of knowleged in this area, but this is all very new to me. I do not want to do anything extravagant. I capture TV programing to my HD and want to be able to put a particular program on a DVD. I( have tried to burn 5 DVD's with different one hour shows and I get a burn failure every time. I am using NeroVision express and as it gets almost complete, it gives me a failure message. Here is the last part of the log file:

All I would like to be able to do is burn the show and watch it on a computer or through a DVD player. Is it a format issue? I am just takind the file from the HD and trying to burn it to a DVD. Is there a simple tutorial someplace for this?

    Thanks very much.

What format is the file in? Is it avi, mpeg1, mpeg2? Can you actually see burn rings in the dvd? What brand of media are you using?

No rings- the DVD looks clean. Using Sony DVD-R. Not at that computer right now, so not sure of the format. I don't remember how I set it up to record. it has been a while.

    thanks

    trapper99,

The early part of the log that you didn't post should have some more clues, but working with what you posted...

The burn is failing before it even starts writing the data. Specifically, when the software sends a "Reserve Track" command to the drive (as part of the setup for a DAO burn), the drive can't do it, and is returning atapi error code 053005 which translates to "Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format".

It may be that Capmaster is correct, and the disk is bad. Another possibility is since the attempted burn was only at 2.4x, the firmware on your drive (ND-1300A) may not be able to handle newer(?) media like the disks you're using. If you know the firmware version the drive is using, and the media id/code of the disks, or just post the earlier part of the log, a solution may present itself.

Since these were your first two posts here, welcome to VideoHelp.
