    Hey guys i rencently recieved a retail version of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest, when coming to play the dvd in my system using PowerDVD there is no sound through the whole film, i have tried playing it from realplayer and window media player, however i can play music or videos from the hard drive and i have sound.

    Any ideas what this could be?

    Try uninstalling and reinstalling PowerDVD.

    Power dvd 7 is currently doing the rounds on warez sites .... if you are using this pirated version then that is the cause of the problem ... its a pirated version that doesnt work ... it shows the video but no sound (it also corrupts other apps like windows media player etc) uninstall it and get a paid for version.

    If your version of Powerdvd is legit then you have another problem .... as suggested try uninstalling and re-installing Powerdvd

    N:B only ac3 sound is affected (the most common used on dvd's) hence why you can still play music etc from your hdd
