I'm not sure if this counts as an Audio topic, but here goes:
I'm asking this for a relative. XM and Sirius services are sold as being available "coast to coast" (U.S.). And, as you probably know, these are no longer strictly car-mounted receiver options: there are smaller transistor radio-sized portables available. Has anyone been able to receive either of these services well outside of the country ? How far away ? Other continents ? Out in the middle of the ocean ?
I'm asking here because XM customer service or Tech. Support -- 800-# OR online -- seems to be a very non-responsive joke. Another Phone Maze of Death, long times on hold, and then zilch. Haven't tried Sirius yet, but I'm not expecting much better.
If you don't know the answer, maybe you're aware of some other online forum where some of the members likely would ?
Thanx in Advance.

XM is just in the U.S. and Canada. Don't know how far this would extend to oceans. As far as other continents/countries, see link for details.

Thanks. So, maybe at some future date, but not for now. I would expect Sirius is probably no different.Originally Posted by johnny quest

I would think it would be like Sat TV, You can use it anywhere as long as the satellite is in View.
