Dude:
You can just burn the .Avi onto a CD-R but you won't be able to use in your DVD Player. If you want to play it in your DVD Player, you will need to Encode this .Avi to an Mpeg file & then burn it to a CD-R in a VCD format.
I can tell you this, you will never get a 699 MB .Avi file Encoded into Mpeg & get it on one CD-R. When you encode that sucker it will be more like 1000 to 1200 MB. If somebody told you that you can Encode this & still burn it on 1 CD-R, well, that dude musta been smokin some weed or something.

You can get a very large files (some have said up to 2 hours) on a single non-standard VCD. It may or may not play in any given DVD player though. The quality seems alright, but I've only seen slower scenes. Check out www.kvcd.net for more info. I think there's even sample clips to download, look at and burn to test if the template will work for you DVD player.Originally Posted by mrebman

Well' I don't smoke weed, but after some people have seen "The Matrix" complete in one 80 minute CD-R made with the KVCD template, they go smoke some because they can't believe it
Here are some movies that fit complete in a single CD-R:
The Matrix, Hollow Man, Don't say a word, Get Carter, Mission to Mars, City Hall. The list is long ....
And some of these are longer that 120 minutes. 8)
As far as blocks on high speed scenes, barely any visible, because the MAX bit rate is set to 2,300Kbps specifically for action parts.

Hi,
There's a way to make a whole movie fit on ONE SINGLE VCD explained just here, at VCDHelper... I'm new to video conversion, but I've read all the things in this site, and everything is well explained, even a baby can work with it
Here's the page where the whole process is explained ( http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=84759 )
You can just skip the part about DVD ripping because you're working directly from a DivX file...

mrebman, may I just give you a suggestion? Never say never, and never be categoric in your answer... There'll always be someone to let u know that you're completely wrongI can tell you this, you will never get a 699 MB .Avi file Encoded into Mpeg & get it on one CD-R. Everything is possible, the only thing is to know how
