  1. others are having no trouble playing it though.
    Its the same files.

I downloaded something in mdf/mds format and extracted with magic ISO. now tried to play the file with windows media player, classic media player/real alternative, vlc player, xvid and windvd.
    This is what I get:

audio is high pitched, squeking and video shows GREEN boxes and i can't see the proper video at all. just these green boxes moving around.

So you're going to say its corrupt. but then how come others can play it find though??
also, i tried using g-spot (g-spot doesn't really support dat file though) and didn't come up with any errors (it just showed me info, it didn't scan the file. as i said, it doesn't support it).

Any experts out there wanna help a video-dumbo here?

How do you know others can play it without any problems? Are they playing copies that you gave them?

Chances are, the file is corrupt or you don't have the proper codecs installed.

Use a tool such as ISOBuster which can extract the mpg file from your image.
