I'm trying to trim or cut the credits off of an avi file [xvid mpg 4] so I can fit it on a DVD. The file size is about 20mb too big for the media I'm using and overburning leaves me with an error laden disc. I'm sure there's a way to do it without re-encoding the whole movie...I just need someone to tell me how ...Thanks, RpM.

Use Virtualdub, use the left and right keys at the bottom of the screen, select the part you want to cut then hit the delete key. Hit the video tab and select "direct stream copy", hit the audio tab and select "source audio". Lastly, hit the file tab and select "save as AVI".

Thanks steveryan ...worked like a charm and only took about 6 minutes. Now I noticed that the audio is out of sync on the original [as well as the newly cut] file when played back on WMP or VLC. It starts off in sync but increasingly goes out as I skip through the movie. It's 0x2000 AC3 Dolby/ 48000Hz 192kb/s total [2 chnls] according to GSpot.
Is there a way to resync this as well ...RpM
