DVB-T to DVD

After a long struggle, MSI has managed to come up with a driver that works on all my systems for the Mega Sky 580 DVB-T tuner.
I captured a clip, and loaded it in GSpot. GSpot reports it as 15000(!) kbps 720x576 25 fps video, 448 kbps AC3 audio. DVD ready except for the too high video bitrate. But calculating backwards from the file size, it's really 5285 kbps video bitrate, so I thought - what the hell - and loaded it in TDA. Not surprisingly, TDA complains about the bitrate, but (as a nice app should) allows me to ignore the warning.
And the finished DVD plays beautifully! OK, my player rarely complains, but... As you can imagine, the video quality is outstanding - far better than anything I've ever done with my Hauppage card, and I've been more than satisfied with that (still am). At less than euro 40 for the receiver, it's a bargain, imo.

My DVB-S card captures produce a similar result in that it reports the bitrate as 15.0mbps.

The files are 584x480, 160kbps mp2 audio, 29.97fps, but the bitrate is actually 3000-3500kbps.

You can ignore the bitrate error and GOP too long error with TDA, but not the invalid resolution error.

I use DVD Patcher to patch the resolution to 720x480 & set the bitrate at 3.5mbps (you can patch it to custom bitrates too).
