I have been using a Cinevision RV4000 to make DVD recordings for about a year and a half. I have had very few difficulties/bad recordings with the recorder. Lately, however, when I have inserted the recorded Maxell DVD+RW discs into my PC DVD writer, the PC cannot read some of the discs. Using Windows Explorer, the loaded disc shows up as "CD" followed by the drive letter. Both of my DVD drives recognize it as a CD with a capacity of 1.99 GB. In reality, the discs that I insert are full or nearly full 4.7GB DVD+RWs.
I was worried that my DVD recorder might be starting to go, but when I played the discs in question in a few different DVD players, they played just fine. Any ideas as to why certain
DVD+RWs read properly in a PC while others don't? I even had other first-time use DVD+RWs from this brand-new spindle read properly with no difficulties at all. Maybe just a bad batch of discs in this spindle?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
