  1. I have a Philips 711dvd and using Nero 5.5 I included some still images in an svcd compilation. Indeed the images were stored on track #1.
But once I put the disc in the dvd , it starts reading and playing data from track #2. So, please somebody tell me:
Is it possible to view still images on a TV using a stand-alone DVD and move through them using the remote control's cursor keys? If yes, how?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance,

In Short - yes there is. I have the same model DVD Player.

My experience is that that mixing video with a slideshow does not work too well.

There is a section to the LEFT called HOW TO. Have a look through that section and there are some excellent guides on how to do it.

If you want to control the timing of your slideshow to the remote button action, then the timing needs to be set to infinate.

  3. Thank you for replying,
I looked at the quides on the left and there is just one thing I doubt about, since I have followed every other step described in the section "how to create a photo album with nero 5.5":
Is it really critical to select 'VideoCD' instead of 'SuperVideo CD' when the program starts? I'm saying this, because even selecting 'SuperVideoCD' at the beginning , allows one to drag jpg images over to the CD and then stores them on truck No1 as 1/1, 1/2, 1/3 ....
But then when the CD is ready and I put it in the DVD player, the images are not played even if I haven't included any other stuff on the CD. So what do you think I'am doing wrong? Or to put it another way, what steps did you follow to succeed in playing those images in your Philips711?
    Thanks,
    manolis
