My Friends.
I got some movies in avi or divx format. In some of them there is a big problem:
No-SYNCHRONISM between sound and video
So the sound comes 2-3 seconds before video and the movie looks so ugly.
Plese do somebody knows any software wich is able to fix this No-SYNCHRONISM?
Thanks![]()

in virtualdub, open avi
set Audio->Direct stream copy
set Video-Direct Stream Copy
select Audio->Interleaving, under Audio skew correction, set an appropriate number of milliseconds (positive or negative) in the box labelled Delay audio track.
Last save as a new avi, file->save as.
Or google for fix sync virtualdub for further information. -

Audio scew ... use positive value's to push audio ahead (800) ... negative value's to pull it in front of video (-800)
You may need to change this adjustment a couple of time's till you get it almost perfect .
Use preview mode (disable second preview window) ...
Only play the first few minute's as vdub , even on a fast system will start to drag the audio behind the video .
If audio isnt where needed , adjust "audio scew" value and preview again .
=================================================
When ok ... you can if needed , add audio recompression ... ac3 or mp3 (depend's on codec's and filter's installed)
Save as avi , and enjoy .
=================================================
Audio that get's more out of sync (ahead) as video play's is caused by such conversion's as 24fps to 25fps .
Behind is caused by such conversion's as 25fps to 24fps .
1: Open avi in vdub
2: Hold ctrl and press R
3: in second edit box in new window , set fps to what the original clip was (hopefully you still have it) ... if not ... take a guess (may take a couple of crack's at it) .
4: Set both video and audio to "direct stream copy"
5: Save as avi .
Now use a program that dose do a framerate conversion correctly .
Mine is ulead video studio 9 ... se version's in ebay cheap ... packed with many feature's ... a bargain .
The newer version of super is getting close ... so it get's 3 banana's ... previous version was crap .
And still no 24fps or "do not frame convert" option ... maybe they'll get the point soon .
============================================
Problematic one's come from video capture where frame's where dropped ... or system was unable to keep up with both video and audio ... so audio lagged behind .
These are a pain ...
Best method is if pc is able to keep up with video capture without audio , then capture audio later or on external device (import later)
Also check what codec is being used to compress video into ... some work better than other's which will prevent frame drop's .
Audio is imported later .
Of course being a little more involved ... with avi's and mpeg1's , this is as simple as already explained above .
Mpeg2 and vob is a little more involved , as there really dosent appear to be any really good freeware that can split these near perfectly ... as this is my method for doing such using freeware ... a guide showing the way is currently being written and will be online shortly ... just like my commercial removal guide ... similar process's involved ... and frame perfect .
=====================================
As for ugly video ... nothing will help it ... rubbish in = rubbish out .
But before you throw it out ... try updating the video card / chipset driver's ... it's common for people to forget to update system driver's ... it may be why the video look's ugly ...
