    Hi I got a pal dvd-r and I want to change it to ntsc dvd-r. Mostly I tried tmpenc but it freezes with about 5 hours left of encoding. It says right error or something of the sort. Any ideas?

    Sounds like you received the infamous "right error or something of the sort" error. Could you be more specific?

    To convert PAL to NTSC, you have to change the height to either 240, or 480 and the frame rate from 25 fps to 29.97 fps. You can probably use the 3:2 pulldown and have a slight speed change in the final product (probably won't be noticeable to the casual observer). I haven't tried this conversion, so I am making an educated (?) guess.

    There is a PAL/NTSC to NTSC/PAL conversion guide on this site. I'll leave it to you (for extra credit) to find and peruse the guide.
