  1. Hi,

I'm new to the DVD recording. I have recently purchased a LiteOn LVW-5116GHC ALLWRITE DVD RECORDER in order to convert my home movies (VHS) to DVD. After burning a few I noticed that I would lose the sound if I FastForward or Skip to next , but this would only happen with certain chapter marks on the DVDs. It would not always happen within the same chapter mark on different DVDs. Also I have used at least 2 different brands of DVD media all being DVD -R. I realize this could be a somewhat involved problem, but if anyone might have some suggestions or advice.
    Thanks in advance.

What brands/media codes ? Not all media is created equal, and some vendors source discs from different manufacturers, resulting in inconsistency within brands.

If you rip the disc to your HDD, does it play correctly using PowerDVD or similar ?

  5. I have not tried that as of yet. I have use the PC to record VHS, but the rendering was very painful even with a 2500mhz,1gig,256Meg Graphics card, system. That's why I purchased a standalone DVD burner. I guess you get what you pay for.
