  1. I'm trying to install proper drivers for a raid controller. It detects and boots into windows fine, but when I try to reinstall winxp it can't find the drive. I just assumed I need a new raid controller driver, I looked everywhere and still can't find one. The board I'm using is an Asus p4p8x.

When Windows XP is in it's hardware setup mode, Press F8 to install third party drivers. You should see a screen which says this at the bottom.

F6, not F8. There should be a utlity on the SATA Card CD to make a floppy for a Windows install.

  4. Similar situation here:

Start reading from "You'll be needing a healthy PC for this part." - it should explain the process for you.

Make sure your BIOS is set up correctly, that the RAID controller is set to the right mode (ie. RAID for two drives on a RAID array or IDE Mode for a single drive or several individual drives).
