  1. I am very new at this and don't understan alot of the terms used here. I have a writer program that is possible to burn videos onto a CD. As far as I know, the cd that I burned is a VCD. But it won't play on a DVD. Is there something else I need to do, so that it will play on DVD players?

  2. You should post what kind of DVD Player you have. Also, there is a list on vcdhelp.com that reveals which player has what support for VCD, XVCD and SVCD (click on VCD and look for the player list).

  3. I saw the post, but I also saw a post that says I can make vcds play on almost any DVD player. But the program changes the files to VCD which as far as I know, I already have. I am confused. Do I need to format my cd? I saw that on another post but I thought all cds are already formatted.

  4. If your dvd player does not support vcd's or svcd then it will not work. Some dvd players support vcd's and svcd's but only play certain types of media. you need to look and see what your player supports.

  5. Your player may support VCD, but probably DOES NOT recognize CDR or CDRW. Check the list to see if your model recognizes these. If it does not, you are out of luck.
