I bought a 50 pack for $10.00 bucks. Here's some evidence that they're worth a look. Especially at that price.

It's generally considered a 2nd / 3rd tier manufacturer and only good for "scratch" discs.

My current patch of Fry's (GQ) CD-Rs are Princo. They're... okay.

  3. Lucky you for finding them - I can't get them in the UK because of a licensing dispute with Philips.

Princo type 8 CD-R's are the most compatible discs I have ever found, especially when it comes to Sony DVD players that are notoriously bad with CD-R's. The brand name might not be fashionable at the moment, but if I ever find any type 8's in the UK I for one will be stocking up !

No luck involved. Canada has a treaty with China.(Taiwan as well) As a result, we're a dumping ground for every sort of generic and not so generic electronic/media product they can come up with. Not that this is a liability, or always an asset either. But they certainly have some unusual(and surprisingly cool) electronics and media for cheap prices. Including DVD/CD Media brands I've never seen for sale online, or mentioned here.

The Princo type 8 CD-Rs are blue/white topped, and sold under a brand called "Natural" here. Thanks for you're endorsement Gary.
