Try to the guides section to your left.

Click on Tools (to your left). When it loads, look under Tool Features:, where is says Select Conversion Feature. You will find avi to DV, and even ... To DVD, a more general category.

Guides can also be searched the same way, using the Format Conversion field.

To be honest though, if searching the tools and guides section is too hard for you, then there is no way I can explain a process in a way you could follow. Think of searching the guides as a kind of aptitude test. If you can't use them, you aren't up to converting video.

The ES setting will give you an M2V video (and only video) file. Later you use FFMpeggui to make the audio file and the two will be combined when you author them into a DVD. Keep reading.

You use the bitrate calculator then enter the bitrate after selecting the rate control mode. Just like it says in the guide.

Pardon my french but FFS, you must have missed the part up the top of the guide that held your hand through using a bitrate calculator. Read the whole guide from cover to cover first so you get an understanding of the entire process. Sections in my guides aren't normally intended to be ignored.

Seriously I think NeroVision, DivxToDVD or some other one-click wonder app where you don't have to think about anything might be your best option.
    If in doubt, Google it.

OK now i am at the TMPG and at the setting and it says this

Rate Control Mode: Choose either 2-pass VBR or CBR. If 2-Pass VBR, Click the SETTING button next to this, and input the following:
Average Bitrate: ave from bitrate calculator
Maximum Bitrate: max value from above
Minimum Bitrate: min value from above

My Calculated bitrate is 7341 which would be avrg bitrate on TMPG
Then DVD MAX Bitrate would be 9570 which is Maxiumeum Bitrate on TMPG

But what is Minumum? should i keep same? and what should i use for Audio Bitrate? please

some say 0, some say highre because they believe some players can't handle a zero bitrate. Given the gap between average and max is relatively small (2200), there is little point going much lower than around 5000. In order to maintain an average, the encoder needs to keep a pretty even spread of bitrate above and below the target average. Therefore the gap between the average and the max, and the average and the min will end up being pretty close to equal. By all means, go lower - 2000 is a good, round number, but don't expect the encoder to spend very much time down there.

Evan7, When I need to convert AVI files to DVD I use Intervideo WINDVD.
    A simple 1,2,3 step process.
