Hey -
I just remembered I have this $25 gift certificate at circuit city...I know...they blow.
Yet, I need some blank dvd media to burn some non-critical backup stuff on.
What's the scoop at circuit city? What do they have that I should use?
Thx
PS - I went to their site but couldn't read the tiny ads...boo hoo.

My suggestion would be is to find a friend or an enemy who likes to shop there and sell them the card. You can then go visit a real electronics store and buy discs at half the price.
Last time(December) I was in Circuit City they were still selling SL discs at $1 or more a piece. -
ha ha
well, I'm stuck with the card since everyone I know hates them, too.
I just read here that circuit cities Nexxtech DVD-R with the code MCC02RG20 were verbatium
Comments and suggestions?
Thx -
Not according to their website. They are CMC MAG AE1's.

How about Sony DVD-R 50-Pack (50DMR47LS3)
on sale for $14.99?
Gotta use this card before it expires.
Thx -
Sony is good, buy those.
If I had a $25 CC gift card, I'd buy myself a tv show box set.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

This CC just opened up down the street. It's so new, it's not listed on their site yet.
Ok...they open in a couple of hours...I'll check them out.
Thx for the info -
If you can't get your media, they have RAM on sale this week. Kingston pc3200 512mb for $22.99 (after rebates).

The only good thing about CC is that they screwed up and only charged me $6 for those Sony's 50 caker. I still have $18 on my card...heh heh
Help me get rid of CC!! -
Some people have gotten MCC02RG20 under the NexxTech brand. They have an MCC stamper serial in the outer hub area, ZDXXXX-DVR-I47B or something to that effect.Originally Posted by ROF

Interesting...I read some reviews on those and they were nightmares....One had 0-5 successful burns so he stopped right there.
To me, there's no need to take a chance to save a nickel or dime. Like I posted, CC screws up all by themselves. Who needs a sale?
ha ha -
Every other week CC has a sale on media mostly on the Nexxtech and or the TDK 25pack. If you know how to tell media codes by looking at the disk you be getting good deal. Just stay away from UMEDISC code.
-
I also read a lot of ppl are having trouble with CC's TDK stuff...
They had Maxell I think...didn't check the code, however. -
The only TDK I have ever had a problem with came from Circuit City. Doesn't make any sense to me.
