Just got this player and love it except for one issue:
Is it supose to be that loud? I have gone through a variety... samsung, jvc, philips, toshiba players and they are all quiet (except for an lg one I took back right away). This one is fine on power up, but as soon as a dvd is loaded and the tray closes, that sets it off.
I don't really want to take the player back for another and find out that it is just a function of the motor in the player and have to return the second one. But on the other hand, how could anyone handle any amount of noise coming from the player if it is indeed the motor?
I don't know how to describe the noise, it's not really a buzzing, humming or whining.
Id appreciate any input (especially people who use this player)

I have it and I'm not sure what you're referring to. If you get up close to it you can hear it, I guess. I don't hear it while it's playing a movie.
