Players and best media compatability

Hi All:

I'm looking for the best media brand compatability with a GO Video DP-8440 portable player. It claims to play all four formats but so far I'm not getting any playback on -RW or +RW.

Anyone know of a site and/or forum where best media brands are matched up with specific players?

I had one of those for about 2 months. It never worked properly even with original media. The battery never made it through a whole movie and eventually the erratic power connection made me return it amongst other issues. If you recently purchased it, return it and get a different model.
