    I used nero to convert an avi movie I downloaded, because for some reason when I converted it the movie went to full screen. I also tried in TMPGEnc and it for some reason lost quality big time. The file is dvl-oea (oceans eleven cd1). Thanks a lot.

    Check your settings, I think its best to convert the movie to mpeg without changing anything.

    TMPGEnc settings > advanced > video arrange method
