  1. I used the divxtodvd to convert my .avi file into dvd and then it burned it. unfortuanly when I played it back after being burnt it is about 15-20 seconds out of sync? Is there someway to correct this problem? Also is there a alternative to this program that isnt a trail but free?

    Any help is appreciated

EDIT: I just tried the movie i burned in my dvd player and it only says loading and nothing happens? It worked on my dvd player in my computer right away though?

Here's the old free version of that program:
    http://fastdownload.softonic.de/ourfiles_de/windows/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_0.52.99.exe

As for the sync problem, try scanning the source file for bad frames with VirtualDub before running it through the conversion process. You may have a junk file on your hands.

Assuming you are selecting the correct frame rate when you run it through divxtodvd. Forcing PAL on NTSC or vice versa would give you bad sync.

  3. I just used the older version of 0.5.2.99 and converted a seperate video file. It made a video_ts folder and I went in and played the movie and it was in sync good. My question is should their by a audio folder? and what do I do now to get a properly burnt dvd. Thanks for any help

Use Imgtools Classic to make an ISO file.

    Get it here:
    http://coujo.crion.de/Classic_0.91.6.zip

Config it to burn the ISO file with DVDDecrypter.

    HTH

edit: The AUDIO_TS folder isn't used by anything in DVD-Video and really isn't needed but there may be some really old players out there that may reject a disc that doesn't have that folder present. I've only heard this and never came across one myself though.

Just point it to the folder containing your VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders. Save the ISO in another directory somewhere....anywhere you have room for it. Type in a label for it & click the image button. It should create the ISO image and launch DVDDecrypter & burn it when it's finished.

It shows up on my computer in drive f and the dvd is labelled the video file name and when I double click it goes right into media player and works but on my dvd play it only says loading? Should I use my dvd-r disc or its it probaly something else and not worth wasting my last disc

That should be a pretty compatible DVD. Your player may not read re-writable discs. Try the DVD-R....it should work just fine.

You might want to check your player to see if it plays DVD-R discs if you have any doubts.

If you are creating a DVD-Video legal title set with DivxtoDVD and creating the ISO & burning it with ImgTools Classic & DVDDecrypter then it should work for you. The only other thing I would suggest is trying a different type of media.

The title sets generated by DivxtoDVD are DVD-Video compliant and the IMGTools Classic & DVDDecrypter combo for burning DVDs is pretty much flawless so I would be suspecting either faulty media or the player you're using, in that order. The only other thing I can think that could be causing it not to load on your set top would be that you are trying to play a PAL DVD on NTSC hardware.

Open one of the VOB files in something like VirtualDubMod and pull up the file info & check the frame size and rate.
