  1. Hello,

I am learning Flash for a project at work, and at home creating vcd menus. Then I had an idea, can I combine the two! Can you use Flash to create menus, and use them with vcds?

    TIA,

    Walter

  2. The simple answer is Yes.

You can create a menu, and then save your flash animation as an AVI and convert it to VCD format. I'm planning on using Flash to make a screen with video clips flying over it, and numerical choices on the bottom of the screen.

If you're hoping for Flash to create a menu like DVD menus for your VCD/SVCD, you're out of luck. The VCD/SVCD format doesn't support interactive menus... just numeric ones.

Keep going with the flash though, and you'll discover there's millions of uses for it besides just the common ones. I use it all the time for my VCD creations.

  3. Hello,

Thanks! You are right the more I learn about it, the more I think of to do with it!

    Cheers,

  4. First I used Flash for Introductions to presentations... then I started using Flash for entire presentations at work. I've used it for making games... I've used it for attempting to make my own cartoon series. VCD intros, etc etc. The possibilities are endless. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at mikewg@hotmail.com or check out www.flashkit.com for some great tutorials.
