Burned VCD won't play in DVD player??

I burned a vcd using roxio easy cd creator. It plays on my computer when i play the .dat file on my dvd player on my computer. I put it in my dvd player which supports vcd anc cd-rw (which I am using) and the vcd icon comes up on my lcd panel on the front of the dvd player. It also tells me on the lcd how long the vcd is yet I push play and nothing happens??? Please help.

if you use TMPGEnc, when you go to MPEG TOOL-MERGE AND CUT, make sure that the top bar reads MPEG-1 VIDEO CD as a default it sets up as MPEG-1 SYSTEM(AUTOMATIC)
this will fix your problem, had to deal with this issue myself

Thanks for the suggestion but it still didn't play in my DVD. I put it in and it loads and tells me vcd and tells me how long the clip is but when i push play the disc does nothing. Not sure what the tmpge was supposed to do but my clips were already mpeg-1 converted. Hmmmm, driving me crazy :cry: hopefully someone will know.
