Can anyone recommend a simple freeware app that allows synchronizing files to/from a USB drive and/or an iPod? I think I saw one available for the iPod once upon a time which said it worked for USB drives as well but I can't seem to find it anymore.

All I need it for is to share my iCal/Sunbird calendar files between my work laptop and my home workstation via my USB drive preferrably (since it's the most portable and secure). My website service provider does not have WebDAV so I can't create an online spot for my calendar files to publish to or update from otherwise I'd be doing it that way, but sync'ing to a USB drive allows me to see/make changes without needing internet access.

Yeah, but despite their claims they have outages just as often as .Mac and some of the other free (or even paying) iCal exchange servers. At some point my internet host will offer the service as part of my domain package and then I'll set it up. But for now I need something that works without online publishing.

I found this, I'm gonna give it a try:

    Freeware:

    http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp

Automatically backup files, directories, even entire drives! Karen's Replicator copies selected files from one drive/folder to another. Source and Destination folders can reside anywhere on your network. Files larger than 2 GB are supported.

Options include repeated copies at intervals as short as a few minutes, or as long as several months, copy only files that have changed, and the replication of file deletions.

New features allow you to specify which files should not be copied, and also which days a file should be skipped!
