  1. I bought a PIKA ONE dvd classic DVD writer a few months ago, i have a Packard Bell imedia 5075.

when burning a DVD video i always have problems with playback, i have tried using Nero 6 but no burnt video files play in standalone dvd players/recorder.

I have tried updating my firmware and getting in touch with Ahead support but they where useless and just keep asking for log files i have already sent.

I have made a few DVD of Vob files that play ok all the way through, but the majority either don't play or skip and stutter.

The closest i can get to a DVD playing is creating an ISO with Shrink and burning through Alcghol or Magic ISO

I have trawled through this forum for months looking for a fix but nothing seems to work,
    Progs i have tried/used :
    DVD DECRYPTOR
    DVD SHRINK
    ALCOHOL 120%
    NERO 6
    RECORD NOW DX
    MAGIC ISO 5
    POWER 2 GO

Any help would be gratefully appreciated i am really stuck now and fell like smashing my pcs to bit

Look your DVD player up to the left to see what types of discs it supports and/or try some different discs.

You have lists all the programs you have tried, but you have failed to list the media. Poor quality or incompatible media is the number one cause of playback issues. Your symptoms seem to indicate media being the cause here as well, although it is possible it is the writer (never heard of PIKA ONE) of course.

What media are you using ?

Most likely your DVD player is incompatible with +R, look it up to see what other users results have been.

Discs that fail are more prone to fail at the end. Most likely that disc will play in your computer DVD rom perfectly, computer drives are more robust, they just work better. Try a slower burn rate.

  10. Possible solutions:
    1. Upgrade firmware
    2. Try media with code YUDEN000T02
    3. Burn at lower speed (2.4x or 4x)

Reduce the size of your ISO file. If it's skipping towards the end, just make your project smaller. Remove stuff or reduce the bitrate. Use a target size of 4GB instead of 4.37 (4096mb vs 4484mb) to keep it away from the edges of the disc.
