They all play in my PC but in nothing else

I need help. Everything I put onto DVD will only play in my PC. I've tried 2 brands of discs, in 3 formats, +r, -R and +RW.

These will playback in my PC, but no-one elses PC and no DVD players. This is regardless of whether I have copied mp3 DVD's, Divx DVD's or actual DVD's themselves. They all play in my PC but in nothing else.

I am using the latest Nero with all add-ins and a Samsung writemaster DVD RW. Any help would be appreciated.

Try backing up a DVD with DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter to burn. If the problem is still there, maybe your burner is messed up. Settop players may not play all types and brands of discs, but other computers should, using a software player.

If you are using Nero for other than burning, it doesn't do DVD creation that well.

Also check what brand of discs are recommended for your burner in the DVD Writers section to the left.

If your DVD player make and model are known to you, you could look it up in the players section to see if it has problems with particular brands of disks, disk types, media types, burning software, burning speed, etc. That is where I would start.

Focus on the commercial DVD, if it plays in the PC you most likely have a successful copy. However, that would require DVDDecryptor or something similar and your post makes no mention of such software.

Many players will not play MP3 disks, and most will not play Divx files. Since you have not filled out any of this info, and also as you have given very little detail on your process, can't offer much assistance.

Hope this doesn't offend but are you sure you are burning with Nero and not InCD (the packet writing software that comes with nero)? Even if your burns don't play in a standalone you would expect them to work in another PC especially if it just mp3's.

Is this a new fault or have you had it working before?

As some of the other guys said, if you could post more details it would be useful.
