I've been searching and i found these dvd-r
http://www.supermediastore.com/supermedia-4x-dvd-r-media-shiny-sliver-100.html
I was just wondering if they are fakes? I haven't bought them yet but throught the forum i've seen topics about supermedia but no definite info. The media code seems to be MCC 01RG20 and was wondering if they are actually fakes? Supposedly MCC is good media code. Anybody have info on the supermedia and can confirm fake or real?
Also i was wondering if anyone would know if these would work with nec 1100A that has hacked firmware to 1300A? The supermedia store says it does work with 1300A but i dont know it would work with a hacked 1100A to 1300A? Thanx

mcc code is a stolen code, this code had been misused by most of factories in Asia especially in Hong Kong. Supermediastore, Meritline, shop4tech, rima all have product from those suppliers in Asia, but it is depend which one is more reliable on quality. So far, I had used some of those media for quick recording and they all came out good for short term, but in long term don't buy them!

If the price seems to cheap for a product then that product is usually not what you think.....You get what you pay for.

If you keep checking Amazon.com you will probably be able to find real MCC (Verbatim 8X) for around $30 delivered. They are discontinued; sales and rebates have been around on a regular basis.
Still a few bugs in the system... -
MCC is now a faked code too. Anything "unbranded" or "house brand" is likely fake. Anything bought "too cheap" from an "unknown" store or ebay is likely fake MCC.

Media code is MCC 03. I thought they could be fakes for that price but a lot of the disc have errors in the dye. You can see dye run off and other defects on a lot of the disc. Maybe there were just reject disc instead of fakes. -
like what I said early, most of on line compaines do carry fake code media now, however, some of them would be good for short time usage, but for long term usage, don't buy them. some of you just like to buy cheap, and don't care, then it would be your best choice. however, for those whom don't care which one to buy as long as they are cheap, www.rima.com , www.shop4tech.com , www.meritline.com would be the place to shop because their CS is better in overall even though the media doesn't work out right for you.
