My friend bought them from Sam's Club. According to him, he had already five coasters in a row. Using DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink, the procedure were successful but when they won't play in DVD player and in computer. I am kind of embarassed because I told him that I read Verbatim is a good brand although I have not tried it myself because I still have hundreds of TYs and Fujis. I am planning to check the media code when I have time to go to his place.

verbatim is all i use for the last year or so. I get them from sam's club cause they are the cheapest in town out of a 100 pack maybe one or two. success rate near 98%

Yup, probably user error. I have used over 300 Verbatims (2.4xDL, 4x, 8x printable & non-printable, and 16x non-printable, not one coaster. All playback fine in about 15 different players.

I love the Verbatium 16x ink jet printables from Sams Club. I use both DVD+R and DVD-R and haven't had any coasters in them. Great price too, better than buying online.The OldeMan -
