    Hi all,

If anyone has gotten Ulead's DVD Workshop 2 (or version 1, for that matter) to accept and author CVD video, please let me know how you did it?

The option of creating a custom profile with NTSC 352x480 MPEG2 29.97 fps 48Khz audio for SVCD (not DVD) isn't available - it's always grayed out. Anyone know how to create a custom profile? I've tried looking through the profiles in the application folder (or one of the subfolders), but I can't figure it out.

I have the video assets already encoded using TMPGENC Plus - I just need a way to let DVDWS2 accept them. I use Nero to burn CVD (as non-compliant SVCD) at the moment with simple text menus. I'd like to use the menu building features of DVDWS2 instead (I know about NeroVision Express, but it's menu features aren't customisable enough for my liking).

    T.I.A...

  2. I cant remember whether mine has a setting for cvd. Mine has good, better, best and custom. I always capture my shows in cvd format and DVDWS2 never re-renders the video. I have motion menus and it converts for that. It takes about 30 minutes for it to make the files for a 4.3GB project, then only 5-15 minutes to burn depending on the speed of the dvd media. If I am not mistaked, I believe u can create a custom profile under preferences if needed, but I have not needed to do it. I have even changed the output type from good to best, etc and it does not rerender since my videos are always less resolution than thier settings. Just drag and drop your videos to the video line at the bottom, create your menu's, preview and burn! If it rerenders, it will take significantly longer.
I once thought I was wrong
    But I was mistaken

Well poop. That sucks. Why are they anti-CVD - it's just SVCD with different resolution. For that matter, why don't they support xSVCD...

Thanks. I was hoping someone had figured out how to change a template/profile by hand, and maybe hack their way around it...

  5. 48k audio is not correct for CVD spec. 44.1k is the correct audio frequency, same as SVCD. CVD is actually included within the SVCD spec. 48 k audio is for DVD. Common mistake.
