  1. Please can someone help im getting quite desperate here!

I have two parts o a film which could be fitted on to one cd but i need to join them. The only problem is that the second part of the film cannot be joined by tmogenc, and is rejected by virtualdub. virtual dub says: "Mpeg import filter:packet sync error on packet stream (d14b28). TMPGEnc says that the file is not an mpeg, under every setting i try to join it in in the drop down menu.

Does anyone know how i can fix this error and get the mpeg to join to others???

Does the second half play ok, If TMPGenc complains then maybe someone has renamed the extension. If the second half is different in anyway, then the merge/split tools wont work.

You will need to use TMPGenc to convert part 2 into a VCD Mpeg, and do the same for part 1, then you can join/split them.

  3. The second half plays fine and when i burn it to a cd-r using nero it plays on my dvd player fine. But i relly need to join it to the first one and now its really starting to annoy me.

  4. I have just done exactly the same to the 1st file as what i did to the second. And that that is put it thorugh Mpeg Corrector. Now when i go into TMPGenc it says the same errors about the 1st file. either .mpg is not an mpeg file or "illegal Mpeg Stream".

When you load it into Nero, does Nero tell you there is anything wrong ?. It could simply be the mpeg headers are curupt, not enough to stop it from being played, but enough for TMPGEnc to complain.

If its working fine in Nero, then you can add both parts, and specify the range from start to finish in both parts anyway. If you don't need to split it, Nero will add them both to one VCD anyway.
